Our mission at La Rocina Atelier is to celebrate the art of handmade crochet fashion, creating unique, high-quality purses, bags, and accessories for special occasions. We aim to express authenticity and individuality through our meticulously crafted pieces while fostering a community of creativity by featuring other talented artists and offering workshops. Our goal is to bring out the uniqueness in every individual through our exclusive, custom-made designs.

We address the need for authentic, individualized fashion accessories in a market dominated by mass-produced items. Many people struggle to find unique, high-quality pieces that truly express their personal style and are crafted with care and tradition.

Our Solution

La Rocina Atelier specializes in creating handmade crochet accessories that celebrate individuality and authenticity. Each piece is crafted with love and tradition, inspired by the skills we learned from our mother in the Dominican Republic. Many of our products use recycled materials, such as yarn, because we believe in sustainability and want to promote eco-friendly fashion. Our products stand out in the market for their uniqueness and high quality. Additionally, we offer workshops that allow participants to learn crochet and connect with a community of like-minded craft enthusiasts, fostering a deeper appreciation for handmade art. La Rocina Atelier is not only a store but also a place where artists can display their products through consignment, giving them a platform to showcase their creativity.

Funding Goals and Allocation

We are seeking funding to expand our reach, enhance our marketing efforts, and support our operational costs. Specifically, we plan to use the funds for:
 -Event Participation and Inventory:  Covering fees for local and regional events, and stocking up on materials for creating new products.
-Marketing and Promotion: Investing in social media campaigns, professional photography, and website enhancements to reach a broader audience.
-Workshops and Community Building:  Providing supplies for workshops and promoting these events to foster community engagement.
-Operational Costs: Covering rent, utilities, and miscellaneous expenses to ensure smooth business operations.

 Team

La Rocina Atelier is founded and run by twin sisters, Josephina and Rocio, who learned the art of crochet from their mother in the Dominican Republic. I, Josephina, with my extensive experience in human resources and business coaching, handle the planning, organizing, and financial management aspects of the business. Rocio focuses on the creative side, designing and crafting our unique products. Our mother, Juana, provides expert advice on crocheting and sewing, enhancing the quality and variety of our creations. Together, we bring a blend of business acumen and artistic talent to the table. We also believe in sustainable fashion and are dedicated to creating a space for artists, especially artists of color, to showcase their products
