That Good Peace is Growing!

At That Good Peace, it's our mission to provide luxurious aromatherapeutic peace of mind by being a diverse introduction to wellness! In our community, mental health awareness is often stigmatized or simply not accessible and we work hard to meet people where they are as an ally & advocate and walking testimony as to what a healthy mind can do to increase focus, capacity and overall wellbeing! The stigmas say "Don't talk to a therapist, keep your business in the house" or "Anxiety drugs aren't for black people" but That Good Peace works to be an alternative in the meantime. We create hand-poured all natural coconut soy wax wood-wick candles and all-natural loose leaf tea blends that assist in bringing you present by activating 3 or more sensory elements to curate a rest and relaxation routine that combats symptoms of mental health disorders for some and create calm space for others.  

On the service side our "Create Your Own Peace Candle Making Lab" (which is the premise of our brick and mortar space) held in our oasis, helps your escape the worries of yesterday and tomorrow by being a "mindfulness but make it fun" activity that leaves our guest feeling creative, calm and free! Our main goal is to refill your cup! Trivia: Did you know you can't sing and think about your worries at the same time? This is why one of our in house activities while our candles are curing is karaoke-try it! 

We have 2 competitors in a 30 mile radius so this leaves our market open for major growth potential. My competitors do not prioritize mental health, One of them is a fun DIY candle making experience and the other educates on the art of candle making in general which places me a different niche category. Today people are more intentional of how they spend their time and That Good Peace check the boxes: fun, meaningful, a need to come back for a "refill", activity you can do with your fam, friends or lover, and Instagram worthy. 

I am raising funds so that I can afford to hire a staff of producers and marketing professionals to increase our visibility (as I am a team of one), to stock out shelves and be able to afford our sustainable/all-natural vendors, suppliers and manufactures. In this season, all of our profit goes to our astronomical overhead and we cannot move due to lease terms so we are also raising funds to stay in our space and to grow to the next phase of business. What that looks like for us is: "The Peacetreat: Retreats By That Good Peace", our continued efforts/work with Baltimore City and County Public schools during their wellness days, having our candle experience in hotel chains and collaborating with 100+ businesses with our  "every brand should have a signature scent" initiative.
