Go Big for Mental Health
I'm raising $50,000 to fund renovation of newly leased space to create offices for five additional FTE mental health providers.
Project Description
Five Rivers Mental Health Clinic is a mental health practice that exists to render quality care to our clients with an emphasis on community outreach and meeting the needs of underserved populations. We strive to create a positive work environment and encourage self-care of staff so that we can model this for, and best serve, our clients. The agency culture emphasizes respect for the dignity and worth of all people and a commitment to personal and professional development of staff to provide effective, individually tailored evidenced-based treatment.
South Central Minnesota is a federally designated Mental Health Professional Shortage Area and wait time for mental health services often is two months. We have a waitlist and quality providers looking for employment, but we have no office space to see clients. Our clinic is in a former bank and we just leased the space in the photo, which used to be the lobby. We need to renovate the space to create private offices for providers and their clients.

Why did I create Five Rivers?
- I have been working in mental health for 22 years. I also understand from the client's point of view how difficult it is to access quality mental health services in a timely manner as well as the professional's point of view trying to find a high quality training experience or work environment.
How will the funds be used?
- Create and furnish five offices out of a former bank lobby
- Enable Five Rivers to hire five full-time (or equivalent part-time) providers
- Provide approximately another 140 hours of mental health services a week
