Ge'NeL Magazine - Geeky Nerdy Ladies
Geeky, nerdy ladies fighting sexism and racism in the gaming community through content.

Project Description
- Our mission is to create high-quality geek culture content, with a particular focus on women and people of color.
- Our goal is to stop the spread of sexism and racism in geek and gaming spaces. We do this through communication via content and building an inclusive, responsible and fun community.
- The video game industry is a $140 billion global industry. We're going after a few slices of that pie: $30 billion US market.
- Our product is creating high-quality, engaging, editorial content from women in gaming, tech and geek spaces as well as reporting news about those industries and how they affect women gamers. We seek to create a community of understanding to help men and women unlearn the culturally conditioned belief that gaming, geek and tech spaces are male spaces.
- The reason we are seeking funding is so that we can grow, become an authoritative media voice and influence change in the industry, including how games are marketed and advertised to gamers.
- Team Ge'NeL currently consists of myself, founder and owner and fellow gamer and Public Relations professional Quin Martin.
We really appreciate all of your help. We cannot do this alone and you make this possible. Thank you!

The Campaign FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:
- What is Ge'NeL?
Ge'NeL is a video gaming and geek culture media startup addressing sexism and racism in the geek and gaming communities through content creation.
- Is Ge'NeL just for girls and women?
Absolutely not! We create content for all and pride ourselves on being an inclusive community. What we do is focus on issues that affect women in gaming spaces in order to create a real and meaningful conversation of the dangers of sexual harassment, racism, homophobia, and xenophobia going unchecked in geek spaces. We invite our male counterparts to share their experiences as well.
- But isn't gaming for boys anyway?
57 percent of U.S. adults alone, play video games. 39% of those adults are women between the ages of 18 and 35 years old. Gaming is for all of us.
- Is Ge'NeL for little girls?
At present, Ge'NeL is for adult women and men. We hope to create content for young girls to help inspire and motivate them to not be afraid of careers in STEM.

Just Because I Care

In addition to receiving a copy of my very first novel "Blood of Zee" I will make unique tote bags for each individual who donates $50 or more, until supplies last. Only one bag per sponsor regardless of how many times you donate.

To show my sincere appreciation, I will create a piece of photographic art and have it put on canvas just for you. Only one piece per donor, however. This is, in addition to receiving a tote bag and a digital copy of my first novel, Blood of Zee.
