Project Description
The "Elevator" Pitch
At Fitness Loon, I use private, small, group fitness classes as a tool to encourage and empower women who feel isolated or alone and who struggle with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem, reminding them that they are strong, confident, and worthy of love. Life is full of challenges, but no one should have to face them alone. I say it’s kind of like group therapy with burpees and squats.
The Problem
People are struggling with mental health issues like never before. Feelings of loneliness, isolation, and being disconnected are on the rise leading to even more people being diagnosed with anxiety and/or depression. This further fuels feelings of doubt, low self-esteem, and worthlessness, leading to a lack of confidence, and a belief that no one hears you.
The Solution
Fitness Loon solves these problems by offering private, small-group fitness classes that foster a supportive and encouraging community. The classes are designed to improve health, foster healing, and build confidence while also increasing feelings of joy and happiness by celebrating even the seemingly small accomplishments. We believe we “cultivate what we celebrate.” We also host workshops and special events focused on fitness, nutrition, meditation, and more with a focus on improving mental health.
Our Customers
Moms, teachers, and health care workers are my largest demographic. My customers are mostly women, but I have a few men who aren’t afraid to join us. Anyone wanting a safe place to be heard and to use physical fitness as a tool to improve their mental health is welcome here.
Why Me?
I'm a survivor. As someone diagnosed with generalized anxiety and major depressive disorder, who also survived a suicide attempt, I understand the struggles many women face every day. I’ve walked in their shoes and I’ve discovered the power and positive effects small group exercise can have on mental health. I truly believe that it is my compassion and empathy for my clients that gives me an unfair advantage.
What I Need
I'm raising $40K to fund the launch of our commercial studio space and to have additional working capital for marketing and operations. We already have about 40 members and we need the space and additional funds in order to grow and help more people improve their own mental health.

- Where will the studio space be located? The Fitness Loon Studio will be located right here in Loganville, GA, about two miles from our house. If you're familiar with the area, we are acrross US HWY 78 from the Lowe's/Dick's/PetSmart shopping center. We are back behind the Del Taco in the Faith's Crossing shopping Center.

- Will you be hiring additional instructors? Yes. At some point very soon, the plan is to add a couple more instructors and to expand the schedule.
