Celebrity Status Short Film

Celebrity Status is a Proof of Concept Short Film with the intent of becoming a Feature.

"An internet sensation, Jackie, retells her rise to fame and the controversial deaths surrounding it. As the story cuts back and forth to the events and Jackie's retelling, it's clear she's using her platform to manipulate her follower's opinions, essentially and literally getting away with murder. "

Celebrity Status is the story about the addiction a young person can develop to social media affirmation. What that person may be willing to do to get it, and what they’re willing to say to keep it. 

And here's the exciting part.... It's Finished!! That's right! The short film if already finished! We just need a little help to finish paying a member of our Post-Production Team, Music Licenses, and then to submit to Film Festivals. 

The Writer/Director/Producer has funded the entire project with her own money, or money from previous works. However, money has gotten tight, and we need a little push to finish strong.

We've already shown the short film to a few Judges and Professionals who think very highly of the project. At this point, we feel very confident that this could do well in the Film Festival Circuit, and hopefully be sold as a Feature. 

Here's the breakdown of what we need:

• Sound Designer - $400

• Music Licenses -  $1000

• Film Festival Applications - $1000

Total Amount = $2400

A little about the creator:

• Maddy "Gos" Goshorn (Writer, Director, Editor, Producer) is a self-made Asexual Woman who's been working in the Entertainment Business for about five years.  She wrote, directed, and produced "Scare Actors," a short film about a Horror House Themed Attraction in 2022. After that she won the iHeartMedia and Seneca Woman Podcast Pitch Competition and produced the show, "Ace of Hearts." She successfully hosted, edited, and produced a season of the podcast show, in which each episodes talked with a person from a different background about their dating lives. The backgrounds of guests varied from different sexualities, genders identities, physical disabilities, mental disorders, races, religions, and more. All the while talking about some difficulties they face in their experiences, but also giving universal advice through the common factor we all have: Our Search for Love and Intimacy.  She's also won accoldes as a Semifinalist in the ScreenCraft Virtual Pitch Competition of Fall 2021, a Quarterfinalist in the Screen Craft TV Pilot Script Competition of 2021, and currently has a project in the Top 4% on Coverfly.  Gos puts her best foot forward in everything she works on and is working hard for her stories and messages to connect as many people as she can.
