The formal definition: the difference between the amount of money paid to women and men, often for doing the same work. Fem Equity definition: discrepancy in money, opportunities, status, ages, attitudes, etc. between “men” and “women”
WHY DOES THE GAP STILL EXIST?
The gender pay gap is a multi-faceted problem, a problem within a problem. American Association University Women states that “The gender pay gap is the result of many factors, including race and ethnicity, disability, access to education and age. As a result, different groups of women experience very different gaps in pay.
