The Campaign FAQs
Where are you planning on opening?
Our goal is the find a place in the Fountain City area of Knoxville, but we will also be looking around Merchant’s and Hall’s for potential locations.
When are you planning on opening?
Spring/Summer 2022, depending on how long it takes to get full funding, find a location, and complete build out!
Will you have stuff for children and adult?
We will have something for everyone! There will be a vast children’s section for kids to hang out and have story times. The rest of the store will include fiction, nonfiction, coffeeshop, sitting area. Room for everyone!
Where are you getting your coffee from?
We found the local roaster Knoxville Coffee Company. They are wonderfully kind and skilled and their coffee is exactly what we were looking for. We can’t wait for you to try it!
Will you have a meeting room?
We would love to have one if we can, but we aren’t making it a priority. Square footage is expensive, and we want to make sure we make wise financial choices for this starting location. That being said, we will have the cafe area that we are designing to be easily converted into an event area.
What kind of events will you host?
Author signings, book releases, themed parties, book clubs, writing clubs, and we are open to more suggestions! We want to be a community center for the area so if you have something you’d like to be a part of, give us a shout.
How did you learn all of this about bookshops?
Early on, Alyssa discovered an incredible organization called Paz & Associates. They teach all the essentials on bookstore opening and operating. We completed their online course and back in August, we attended their Bookstore Bootcamp. It was such a fun experience with loads of important information. We feel pretty fully equipped thanks to them!
