do i have to pick a reward or can i just invest my own amount?
you can invest however much you'd like! all you have to do is select the "Monetary Contribution" button and input your own amount. if you want a reward, just select the reward category you'd like.
can I purchase more than one reward?
YES! when you click on a reward, you can specify a "Support Amount." enter the total of all of the rewards you would like there, and leave a note in the "Message to the entrepreneur" listing the rewards you want.
what else should i know about where the funding is going?
producers & content creators: up until, everyone has been volunteering their time, energy, and talents. you will be supporting the efforts of 9 producers and content creators at an extremely nominal rate.
production: we can create more content if we can hire more producers, crew members, and editors. this will be a game-changer and will allow us to maintain our subscription videos and podcasts.
marketing: we haven't done any marketing for eres. you will give us the opportunity to build our marketing department and develop strategies.
subscription platform: creating an app takes big bucks and although we won’t be able to fully create our app with these funds, we can start developing it. in the long run, it will allow us to build better relationships with our subscribers, have flexibility on what we can implement, and have wider app adaptability, making the back end more sustainable.
operations: we have been self-funding for over 2 yrs and it’s limited our efficiency and organization because we haven't been able to afford all the tools we need to function optimally.

what does eres stand for?
eres stands for empower, rejoice, evolve, speakout. eres also means “you are” in Spanish. with the eurocentric beauty standards our society promotes and the pressure to give up cultural traditions and adopt the “American way,” we want to rejoice who YOU are physically, culturally, and spiritually.
be you, own it!
what’s the P.S. statement on the website about?
P.S. statement: “we acknowledge the varying privileges each of us have within the collective whether as citizens, cis, able bodied, light skinned, college-educated, conventionally attractive, bilingual, and/or native NYCers. as a socially conscious and responsible collective, we are in constant conversation with all these parts of ourselves and welcome productive feedback as we journey with you!"
we want to join conversations with an awareness of our limitations so that we can support others in the best way we can instead of taking up their space. we recognize that for the communities we cannot represent, we must follow the lead of those who are directly affected by and deal with systemic oppression. we understand that we have privileges that afford us an easier life and we are utilizing our privileges to support our communities as best we can.
what type of space is eres. ?
we like to disrupt and shake things up, for example, we write in lowercase, with some exceptions, as a reminder that not all norms should be followed. we are a creative, entrepreneurial, dynamic, and driven space, but most importantly, we are safe and brave space that calls forth our LGBTQ+ Familia and BIPOC. BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, People of Color. we use this term because at the moment it best encompasses the different identities eres. is specifically creating for and the identities within the eres. Collective.
overall, as a space, we refuse to accept sexism, misogyny, racism, colorism, homophobia, transphobia, and ageism. we refuse to comply with patriarchy, white supremacy, binary gender norms, and outdated ways of thinking that serve inequality and oppression. we refuse to comply with cultural and societal expectations of what women or men should do, how they should be, or what they should look like.
why and how does eres. center Black voices?
we center Black voices because even within BIPOC, Black people are significantly underrepresented. we actively scout for, hire, cultivate and mentor Black creatives and leaders to create content, share and archive their lived experiences, and build and grow the platform to shift the mainstream narrative. we are also connecting to our Black roots across the diaspora, starting with our Caribbean Motherlands.
why is it important to archive our stories and art?
we feel out of touch. our roots. our stories, culture, traditions, remedios (remedies), and recipes have been passed down orally mostly, from generation to generation, with little record keeping. we do not want to continue to lose parts of us. our art is equally important to archive because it is part of our self-expression and captures our lives. mainstream
why is eres. focusing on the well being and healing of BIPOC?
part of our mission is to empower BIPOC to self-discover, love self, and express it. when we speak of loving self, healing is part of that. we see self-love as embracing all parts of you. it’s being in full self-expression and caring for yourself and your needs. we promote practices, rituals, activities, and all self-care things for your mind, body, and spirit because it helps in the healing process.
when we speak of healing, we mean the kind of healing that makes us look at the bad, ugly, and unspeakable truths about ourselves. the kind that makes us feel shitty and turns our lives sideways. the kind we are afraid of even if we know it’s the only way for us to rise.
we need to heal so that we can stop fighting for our survival. we need to heal so we step into our power, put on our crowns, and thrive.
