Project Description

The Outsiders Mission

The Outsiders Club is a nonprofit dedicated to creating authentic, empowering communities by teaching individuals to connect with themselves, each other, and the environment. We focus on marginalized groups, bridging gaps in support systems and offering transformative spaces for skill-sharing and development, nature-based activities, and pleasure-based empowerment. Our mission is to create a sense of belonging and community resourcefulness by building resilient communities rooted in shared responsibility with a strong social-justice framework.

Our Vision

We envision a world where marginalized communities are grounded in revolutionary community care—spaces that empower, nurture, and foster real change. A world where vibrant communities and essential resources are accessible to all, where collective strength replaces individualism, and where organizing together enables us to thrive, not just survive.

So, here's the deal...

1. Loneliness is a real problem.

Many people, particularly those from marginalized communities, feel disconnected, isolated, and unsupported.

2. People struggle connecting.

After 2020, social anxiety significantly increased as people got acclimated to isolation and lost important social spaces. People want to connect, but many don’t know how or where to go anymore.

3. Living is expensive.

It’s one thing to survive but to live, you need more. Unfortunately, third spaces have been commodified, and attending routine events is often out of the budget, furthering a lack of connection.

4. Outsiders are ostracized.

Marginalized communities are often overlooked and excluded from spaces that foster connection and support, due to a lack of accessibility, adequate resources, and representation.

Our Solution

The Outsiders fills the community gaps and needs with a 4-part solution: Community Skill Development, Community Education, Community Pleasure, and Outdoor Expeditions.

1. Community Education:

What some would call the “think piece” portion, The Outsiders provides critical community workshops centering on individual and collective growth, healing, and progress. It teaches how to show up for one another and use our divergencies as power tools.

2. Community Skill Development:

The Outsiders provides practical experiences that leave members with skills and resources to thrive as active community members.

3. Outdoor Expeditions:

By engaging in nature-based activities, we help individuals break free and reconnect with themselves through the world around them. These experiences promote grounding, create community bonds, and provide the space to heal and grow together.

4. Community Pleasure:

Pleasure-centered events create deeper, intentional connections, reminding us of the healing power of a joyful community in a world often focused on transactional interactions.

Each month features 4 weeks of impactful, community-driven activities, both indoor and outdoor, to cultivate routine member attendance, and strengthen bonds within the club.

Why We Need Your Help

There is a growing demand for spaces that offer authentic community support, and education, and strengthen our collective abilities. To sustain monthly, accessible community events, we need your help bringing these to life!

Where Your Contributions Go

Funding will be used to cover operating expenses, including event supplies, venue rentals, operating costs, PPE (personal protective gear to ensure those with disabilities can attend), and hire contractors to help run programs. Currently, the team is made up of a director, program coordinator, and marketing manager. With The Outsider's growth, we plan to hire contractors to assist with specific tasks like grant writing, communications, and more. For now, the core team is focused on bringing to life our vision of creating an accessible, organized, and resilient community!

Thank you so much for the support!

We firmly believe we can create a transformative, community-driven space that centers marginalized identities, promotes sustainability, and provides support and connection for people who feel disconnected in today's fast-paced world. Your support will help us build a thriving, resilient community, scale our impact, and achieve long-term sustainability. We appreciate your support in this mission.
