Project Description
EarthPup is a Toronto startup addressing the food waste problem in Canada by turning nutrient-dense food otherwise destined for landfill, into healthy dog treats with purpose.
In Canada, 40% of food is wasted and juice companies are responsible for an estimated 600 million pounds of nutrient-dense pulp sent to landfills. We turn amazing, healthy juice pulp into natural dog treats. To date, we have upcycled 1,100 pounds of vegetables and are on track to divert 40,000 pounds of food by 2023. We are also proud to be the first Certified Plastic Negative pet food company in Canada!
We are women-owned and operated. Including our founder, Lucy Cullen, we have 4 women currently leading the company and by 2023, will have created 20 jobs for women and people facing barriers. We are bringing the community together to fight the problem of food waste through the creation of delicious and nutritious dog treats!
