****IMPORTANT UPDATE****
Due to the state-wide lockdown in response to the COVID-19 crisis, Dragonfly Studio is on hold. We are still taking steps to make this dream a reality, but we decided not to move into the space we had lined up. We are currently seeking a new space, and speaking with real estate agents and investors to find and fund the perfect spot for where Dragonlfy Studio will eventually be. We've had to cancel all in-person events and much of our efforts on finding a space and building community have stalled.
BUT we will not give up, and we will rise out of this stronger on the other side.
The campaign will remain open for donations, and any and all contributions are so appreciated in this time of uncertainty across the globe. Thank you for being a part of the Dragonfly community, we love and adore you.
The mission of Dragonfly Studio is to create an inclusive, supported, and fully-connected artist community.
Los Angeles is one of the largest artistic hubs in the US; it is the entertainment capital of the world, after all. People come here from all across the globe to find their "big break." There are about half a million artistic types making their living here - but the reality is that there are millions more who are trying, and many of them are barely scraping by. The harsh reality is that many of them will never see their dreams bear fruit, and will end up giving up so they can pay their bills.
Dragonfly Studio hopes to change that.
You see, many of these "failed" artists would go on to create amazing things, if they're just given a chance. Sometimes, one chance is all it takes - and that's what we hope to bring to life with Dragonfly Studio.

We believe in the power and importance of the arts and humanities, and in the artistic community at work in Los Angeles. In many ways, the arts thrive here - but many artists, especially those new to the city don't have a place to go or a community to support them, so they end up getting lost in the shuffle.
We welcome all people, from all walks of live, creating all kinds of projects, to use Dragonfly Studio to fit their needs: Events, networking, workshops, seminars, classes, performances, showcases, photo/video shoots, galleries, social gatherings, and so much more... Dragonfly Studio is a multi-purpose venue that can transform to fit the needs of its community.
We believe a rising tide lifts all boats, and none of us can win if even one of us is losing.
That's why part of our mission is to make our space accessible to people of all economic backgrounds. We seek to offer work/trade assistance, internship opportunities, scholarships, and pro-bono applications so that no one is left behind and everyone has a chance to be included.
We are seeking your support for:
- Start-up costs associated with opening a brick & mortar space, like down payment and furnishing
- Supplies for multi-purpose use, like backdrops and lighting equipment for photoshoots
- Incorporation costs, legal fees, and taxes
- Promotions and ad budgeting
