My story is the story of the women I serve. From hot combs to doobie wraps, relaxers to twist outs, I understand this journey because I walk it and I am so proud and humbled to know that my products, made right in my kitchen, are now a part of the history of Black hair care.

I am: Donna Jenay, Owner and Creator of Nancy's Kitchen Products.

Nancy’s Kitchen Products is a hair care line that specializes in the health and styling needs of naturally kinky, coily and curly hair types! All of my products are hand crafted and formulated in honor of my grandmother Nancy and to honor the legacy of “kitchen beauticians” in the African-American community. 

Raised in the United States where mainstream beauty standards and resources give preference to straight and loosely curled textures, I saw a gap in the market and wanted to do something about it. Nancy's Kitchen Products aims to combat negative connotations about coarse hair by first affirming its beauty through products that transform wash days into luxury experiences by way of ease and enjoyment; and with the promise to omit harsh chemicals from our formulas.

Currently NKP is a team of one, developing and creating all of my products by hand in my home on the East side of Atlanta, GA. Since 2014, I have been bootstrapping and funding my e-commerce business by working full time and using the money from sales to keep the business growing. Now, I am stepping out on faith with the loving spirit of my grandmother Nancy cheering me on to pursue this journey as a full time entrepreneur.

No contribution is too small in the collaborative effort to reach the set goal of $50,000 to catapult NKP into a world of possibilities for marketing, inventory and day to day operations. So far, Nancy’s Kitchen has gotten the attention of Elle Magazine, Oprah.com, Allure.com, 21Ninety.com, etc. We hope to have your attention now, as well. :)
