Inspired by our ancestors and the city we call home, adapted from notes on fabric & scrap papers, our recipes were made by our family’s hands. Food has been our communion for hundreds of years. It has brought us together, been our safe space, an act of love and heroism! While we know our business is product-based, service remains the heartbeat of our organization. Our promise to break bread in love and kindness, while pouring back into the humans and brands that strengthen our communities, and need us most, is one of our greatest joys!

The pandemic required us to distance ourselves and create boundaries that kept us safe. The restaurant industry was one of the hardest hit as COVID limited our dining capacity and encouraged consumers to “take out” and “pickup curbside”. Crust By Mack at Preston will be our flagship brick-and-mortar location that looks forward to guests dining in and staying a while. Making our new place, their ‘New Spot’!
Enjoy scratch-made pastries, take meetings, host a private event, shop from our in-house black-owned boutique, and more! Here we will begin our CSA subscription, host workshops, and classes to create a true community that thrives on collaboration. We want our space to be home to entrepreneurs, creatives, foodies, and families alike.
It is important to us that our operational capacity extends beyond serving food to guests. At our Hampden location, within the first six months of opening, we donated 3k in micro-grants to five local artists and brands. Bringing that total to 18,000 within a two-year span! We hosted thirteen local artists and creative businesses, giving them free event space allowing them collectively to generate over 26,000 in sales.
Our Bakery has been visited by hundreds across the country, with guests from as far as Dublin! Our local patrons are amongst the Best in Baltimore, bringing us so much joy each time we have the privilege to serve them! Some of our proudest achievements include:

After major construction delays, supply chain shortages, and our build-out budget nearly tripling due to inflation, we would love support on this campaign as it will ensure we open this spring! Your contributions will go directly toward the remaining bakery build and upgraded bakery equipment, allowing us to open after months of delays and the ability to increase our production needs.
Our Bakery was designed by Design My Investment, a black & female owned design group. Together we contracted over 90% black owned brands to bring our vision to life.
