Cosmic Media: The App Builder For Female Founders

Welcome to Cosmic Media, we are a female startup that wants to fund and build apps for female founders who have a hard time getting funded or building their own apps. After a survey, we found that our future clients will require app services that focus on women's health and wellness, education, and entertainment. We are currently working with a drag and drop app platform that will allow us to streamline the app creation process and have app templates available at more affordable pricing for female-led startups. 

We work with WOC startups on fundraising campaigns to build their first app. This helps founders build apps that unlock opportunities, assist in building businesses, generate income and support the needs of their communities.

Unfortunately, women are still underrepresented and underpaid in the tech industry. When it comes to startups there is very little Venture Capital funding in female-owned startups. Less than 2% of companies get funding. Out of $150 billion invested by venture capitalists, companies receive less than $3.4 billion (Fortune) Which amounts to 2.5% of investment capital. 

A 2020 study by the AnitaB.org Institute found that women make up 28.8% of the tech workforce, a steady increase from the past few years -- 25.9% in 2018 and 26.2% in 2019. The latest study analyzed data on more than half a million U.S. technologists at 51 participating companies. However, at this pace, it could take more than 10 more years for women to gain equal representation in tech. (Mckinsey)Whereas white women are more represented in tech. If you’re looking for a more colorful breakdown, in 2020 the tech workforce was, 14.1% were white women, 9.6% were Asian women, 2.2% were black women, and 1.7% were Latin women. (source: Finances Online) The gap is startling and by creating a disruptive force we will be able to catch up way sooner than 10 years. But only if we continue to believe in the dreams that women have. 

Whether you choose to invest with us today or not, you need to be aware of these alarming stats. This is what happens when we do not encourage little girls to pursue careers in STEM. The workforce moves backward and so many dreams never see the light of day. 

We are currently fundraising $50,000 for Cosmic Media. With this investment we will be using it 100% to employ female engineers from underrepresented groups (LGBTQIA, people of color, etc.) , prepare our software, and start a grant program for female startups which we hope to launch later this year.
