Build a Barn for Twisted Iron Ranch

Hello! My name is Alexis Dasson, owner and founder of Twisted Iron Ranch LLC. I am a full time horse business that provides public training and horseback riding lessons. I also travel to horse shows all over the country and compete for national titles! Locally I am actively involved with 4H programs across multiple counties, working in county fairs and camps to provide horse education and safety to kids.
I was born eating, sleeping, breathing horses. I grew up showing horses and went to college for an Equine Business degree. After graduating in 2017 I started off under the name Reflections Equestrian and rented a facility to operate out of. In 2021 my fiance and I purchased our own property and started building our dream ranch.
Our goal is to build a safe and functional environment where the public and 4H youth can come continue to take riding lessons and further their education in horsemanship and showing. Another goal of mine, once the construction is complete here, is to start hosting educational clinics on various topics. I will also continue to offer horse training, making horses safe and enjoyable for their owners.
Staying involved with youth and the 4H community is very important to me. In New York State we are seeing a decline in our 4H programs. It is sad to see the opportunities I had growing up being taken from today's youth. I am working closely with our county, along with surrounding counties to keep 4H alive so that these kids have a safe and fun environment to not only show their horses, but make friends, learn about community service and hard work, and further their agricultural education.
I also love to attend shows with my clients of all ages, where I get to coach them and help them achieve their own dreams. The greatest reward is being a part of someone's journey of learning to be a better horseman/woman, and being there cheering them on when they finally earn that award, whether it be a small ribbon all the way up to a national title. I live for that feeling every show season!
Outsider funding would mean the world to me and my program as I still need to build a horse barn to house all of my lesson and client horses. So far we have built some pastures and a shedrow on our new property, along with starting the outdoor arena. That has given us a good start, but we need a barn in order to fully open our doors to the public. Our hope with this campaign is to cover at least half of the cost of the barn. Both my fiance and I have been funding all construction up until this point out of pocket. We have been trying very hard to avoid financing so that we can continue the business debt-free. But current market inflation and material costs have been increasingly difficult as we plan for the barn.
Your contributions to our program would allow us to get the barn built as soon as possible and get back to our lesson program. You would be not only impacting our lives, but the lives of all of the youth and members of our community that we serve! We have a great vision of providing a safe and fun learning environment for people of all ages to come improve their horsemanship, improve their connection to their horse, make new friendships, and most of all have fun doing it!
