Bring Midtown Kids Indoor Play Center to SoFlo

My name is Christina and I'm a working mom of beautiful toddler girl. Being a pandemic parent, I've spent my journey through parenthood navigating uncharted waters. Like most parents, I struggled to navigate working my full-time corporate job while caring for an infant then toddler without any support. I learned that parenting can be very isolating and the pandemic only exasperated the problem. These struggles have fueled my passion for building a safe space and community for child and parent.

Today, I am building a high quality indoor imaginative play center that unlocks endless possibilities for imaginative and pretend play inspired by Montessori learning. The world has become, and is being built, less kid friendly with playgrounds being taken out of venues and no longer being included in new construction of casual dining establishments. Most indoor playgrounds are overstimulating and focused on thrill games and rides with little or no opportunity for pretend play.

Midtown Kids is a pretend play focused indoor imaginative play center that inspires by allowing children to step into the role of veterinarians, fire fighters, chefs, scientists and more. Pretend play is critical to mental, social and physical development. Through pretend play children learn about themselves and the world, problem solve, develop important complex social thinking skills, cultivate social and emotional intelligence, and synthesize knowledge and skills.

​Midtown Kids will offer high quality equipment and games, special events, classes and enrichment opportunities for children and adults such as mommy and me classes, Zumbini, prenatal and postnatal yoga, and more. We will also offer birthday party and event packages. We are a startup currently in the development phase.

• Play Equipment, Games, and Toys: $100,000
• Facility Build Out: $75,000
