Lille Bønne Community Living Room

Lille Bønne is located in a historic Danish Church in Fletcher Place, on the southeast edge of Downtown Indianapolis.

We’ll serve coffee and food, but we’re not a cafe. We’ll offer yoga classes, but we’re not a yoga studio. We also plan on hosting movie nights, game nights, art workshops, events, and all kinds of other fun activities.

So what are we?

The pandemic, remote work, and digital devices have us all feeling more disconnected—and lonelier—than ever. Community is harder to come by, and when we do connect, so much of our connection is virtual. Lille Bønne exists to change that. We are a community living room that gives you the space and opportunity to make the real-life connections that make life worth living.

Lille Bønne exists to create the shared space that fosters those connections. 

We bought an abandoned church and we’re transforming it into a community living room. Its purpose: to provide a place where people can reconnect with the simple pleasure of being with other people. Here you’ll find delicious coffee and food, yoga classes, and all kinds of activities and events that foster meaningful human connections.

Bring your kids. Bring your grandma. Heck, bring that one neighbor you’ve only ever waved at. After all, life isn’t a single-serving dish. It’s a feast. It’s way more satisfying when shared with others.

More than 150 years ago, this historic church offered fellowship to a small community of immigrants. Today, Lille Bønne embraces this legacy in a contemporary context. With a full renovation that will include a coffee bar, workspace, yoga studio, and more, Lille Bønne is a beautiful space designed to foster a fun, secular version of fellowship.

Your support will help us:

• Re-purpose wood from the old church pews into the cafe bar and tables. 

• Build a multi-purpose studio for yoga classes, art workshops, and more.

• Open the doors of this historic space to the entire community. Lille Bønne isn't membership-based and we'll have something for everyone at every price-point.

• Support our community and local economy by working only with local craftspeople, builders, suppliers, and artisans. 

The Team Behind the Dream

We’re longtime and devoted residents of Fletcher Place, looking to build something beautiful and strengthen community in the neighborhood we call home. 

Abby Reckard, Founder & CEO

Abby and her husband, two kids, and two cats have lived in (and ever so slightly out of) Fletcher Place since 2013. She has an extensive background in small business and marketing strategy and is obsessed with place-making and community-building. She believes this is some Big Magic and will make you believe it too.

Will Lonnemann, Founding Partner

Will has lived in Fletcher Place with his husband since 2011. He's worked in Indianapolis real estate for nearly 20 years and brings together movers and shakers from every corner of the city. He knows a ton about building community and how to throw a great party.
