Project Description

Brewing Resilience Foundation

What is the mission of your company or project?

The mission of Brewing Resilience is to empower everyday people with the knowledge and tools they need to live resilient lives. We aim to break the stigma around mental health and make healing resources more accessible, especially for underserved communities. Through intentional outreach, education, and free wellness resources, we are committed to cultivating a world where resilience is not just a buzzword, but a reality.

Describe the problem you are solving.

We are addressing the urgent and growing mental health crisis affecting millions. Despite the increasing awareness, many people still lack access to the conversations, support systems, and tools they need to heal and grow. For many, therapy, wellness services, and safe spaces to talk through their experiences are either too expensive, stigmatized, or simply unavailable. We are here to change that.

What is the market size/opportunity?

The global mental health market is expected to reach over $500 billion by 2030, and the need for accessible care continues to grow. More than 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. alone experience mental illness each year, with countless others navigating stress, burnout, and trauma without adequate support. This creates a significant opportunity to create scalable, meaningful change through community-centered healing initiatives like Brewing Resilience.

What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem?

Brewing Resilience is a nonprofit that bridges the gap between people and the mental wellness resources they desperately need. We host community events that center honest conversations about mental health and healing. Each event includes expert panels, safe spaces for sharing, and free wellness tools such as therapy sessions, yoga classes, and wellness journals. We are also building a virtual hub that will provide access to free or discounted mental health services and tools—making healing possible even from home. Through knowledge, connection, and tangible resources, we are helping people not just survive—but truly thrive.

Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding?

We are seeking funding to grow our impact in two key areas:

  1. Major Annual Event – We want to expand our signature yearly event to reach even more people, offer more resources, and bring in powerful voices to inspire healing and change.

  2. Ongoing Community Outreach – Hosting smaller, more frequent gatherings and virtual initiatives that keep the conversation—and the healing—going all year long.

Funding will also help us create and maintain a digital database of mental health professionals and resources offering free or discounted services, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to care.

Who is on your team?

Brewing Resilience was founded by Sydnee Floyd, a registered nurse, wife, mom, and lifelong caregiver. With a deep passion rooted in personal experience, Sydnee has turned her pain into purpose, leading this movement with authenticity and vision.

She is supported by her husband and Co-Founder, James Floyd, who brings strength, creativity, and unwavering support to the mission. James plays an essential role behind the scenes, helping with strategy, production and community connection through creativity.

Our growing team also includes dedicated volunteers, wellness experts, community advocates, and creative partners who share a collective heart for healing and change.
