Black Self-care Talks
a self-care motivational speaking platform for people of color/colour
Project Description
Black Self-care Talks is a self-care motivational speaking platform created by an army veteran and former Addictions Counselor who experienced the extremes of burnout herself. BSC Talks bridges the gap between experiences and the self-expression people of color/colour already use to cope and heal preserving their self-care identity and culture
How persons of color are acknowledged & represented in our minds, the media, history, academia and mental health is being overwhelmingly under represented. Less focus is placed on documenting the history of how people of color/colour live through and heal the effects of racial and emotional traumas. It is time for our emotional health and well-being to shine through as our own experiences as Black Self-care.
Experiencing my own racial trauma, stress and burnout has inspired and motivated me to combine the power of Black Self-care Talks with iFundwomen crowdfunding platform. In the hopes that you and many others will share in the honor of empowering others to take their works of heART (stories) from concept to reality.
Sourcing, curating and designing Black Self-care Talks was inspired out of a need to have an online safe space and community for people of color/colour to organize and express themselves to begin their journey of healing.
Black Self-care Talks supports being heard, and we support individuals and professionals that make it their business to express themselves as entrepreneurs, dancers, musicians, artists, healers, counselors, care-givers, home makers, a persons of color, etc. despite the hardships that lay in their path.
Our Crowdfunding Mission
Is to keep hosting Black Self-care Talks via podcasting free of cost to the public.
With your support we will have the means to create efficiency while collaborating on how your stories are represented in our community and the world. It is our time and our future, we do get to be ourselves by living and healing with the means we have accessable to us now.
