Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding?
Lalene Studios is seeking funding to cover the cost of working with our freelance producer who is actively developing our sales package and pitching our series to networks and reps.
To date, we've pitched Conde Nast, Simpson Street, Anthony Hemingway Productions, Black Monarch, Culture House and a few other smaller companies.

Frequently Asked Questions:
1. If your campaign says "fully funded" but I want you to have my support too, can I still contribute?
Yes, our campaign remains open to funders even if you see "fully funded."
2. Is it best to view your crowdfunding campaign on a mobile device or laptop/desktop?
Good question. The formatting is different, however, you will be able to view all donation levels & contribute funds on both. No matter which device you use, the "Fund It," "View Rewards + Fund It" and "View All Rewards" and "I'm Ready to Fund It" bright green buttons all work to view and fund, too.
3. If there is a specific donation I want to give, but I would like to contribute more than the contribution levels listed next to that reward, can I?
Yes. Here's how to do so: Select monetary contribution and then enter your desired contribution amount. Follow the rest of the checkout steps. That's it.
4. How do I get in touch with any questions regarding a specific reward?
Email Lana Jackson at [email protected]. Subject line: Crowdfunding Campaign Question. We will get back to you within 24 hours.
5. When I fund your campaign, do you receive all of the $$$?
We wish! But it is a team effort. We wouldn't be able to crowdfund like this without IFW, so they automatically receive 5%, plus our payment processing providers (say that three times fast!) receive around 4%. Also, all funding goes directly to our production company Lalene Studios so that we can pay our crew and staff for the episode we are producing.
Immerse yourself in the world of fashion and brush shoulders with movers and shakers in NYC’s fashion scene and most exclusive private member's club. Individuals or organizations who contribute at this level will receive:
- A Special Thanks credit in our series when it airs
- 1 Ticket to New York Fashion Week
- A two-night stay at a private member hotel and club where all the after-fashion week crowd gathers! (does not incl. airfare)
Feel free to contribute any amount not listed in our donation levels.
Donors at this level will receive:
- A Special Thanks credit in our series when it airs
- 2 Tickets to a pre-screening of our pilot episode
- 2 Tickets to our reception dinner hosted on the garden rooftop of an exclusive private member's club in West Hollywood
- 2 night hotel stay in West Hollywood at an exclusive private member's club in West Hollywood (airfare not included)
Donors at this level will receive:
- A Special Thanks credit in our series when it airs
- A social media shoutout on our @blackfashionfiles and @lalenestudios Instagram accounts
- A verbal mention at the conclusion of our private screening
