My name is Kayla Mejia-Williamson & I am the founder of Kamayan Wellness.
Kamayan Wellness' mission is to empower BIPOC & queer women through wellness coaching, creating a safe and supportive space for self-care, health, and community. As a BIPOC & queer women I have seen firsthand how little lack access we have to wellness programs that truly understand and support our unique needs, leading to overlooked mental and physical health challenges.
Kamayan is a traditional Filipino practice where food is served on a shared table, and everyone eats with their hands. It symbolizes connection, community, and nourishment in a deeply personal yet collective way.
Kamayan embodies the hands-on, intentional care that my wellness coaching program will provide. Programs will be designed specifically for BIPOC & queer women, offering personalized, nurturing support in a way that fosters community, empowerment, and holistic well-being. Just as Kamayan brings people together, this coaching aims to guide women in taking ownership of their health with care, authenticity, and shared strength.
The wellness market is growing rapidly, with a strong focus on inclusivity and diversity. BIPOC & queer women are an underserved demographic with increasing demand for tailored wellness services. I am pursuing certification as a wellness coach to launch a business specifically for BIPOC & queer women, offering personalized coaching that supports mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
I’m seeking $10,000 to complete my certification program, which will allow me to launch my business, develop resources, and create a lasting impact for the communities I serve. I am the sole founder, driven by passion, dedication, and lived experience within the BIPOC & queer communities.

The funds raised will go directly toward my certification program, wellness resources, and tools needed to develop and launch my coaching business. This includes course fees, materials, and other startup costs to ensure I can offer high-quality coaching and support to my future clients. I am attending the Intregative Women's Health Institute.

10. What happens if the campaign doesn’t reach its goal?
If the campaign doesn’t reach its funding goal, any funds raised will still go toward the certification program, but I may need to seek additional funding to fully launch the business. Your support, no matter the amount, still contributes to the mission and helps bring this vision to life.
