Between the Bars
How does human desire survive under incarceration? A new play about punishment and love and the price we pay for criminal justice.

Project Description
- Between The Bars is the story of 5 former members of society. They are currently serving sentences in the county jail and are engulfed in the revolving cycle of crime, serve, release, repeat. We observe their treatment from the vantage point of the Visit Room and through the eyes of their visitors. What we take away from our visit may be the key to universal reform.
- I'm looking for backers who believe in the power of theater and the urgent and growing need for criminal justice reform in America.
- Publicity and the power of public opinion will bring attention to the failures of our prison system. Reform will increase the success rate of released prisoners, dramatically decrease the percentage of repeat offenders and help relieve the pain and hardships of prisoner families.
- I am reaching out to you because I know you, too, are committed to causes you believe in. We've raised a large percentage of our funds but need one more push to fund this Off-Broadway production. Previews begin March 23rd!
- Our team includes top notch production directors and an amazing creative team with extensive theater experience in NYC.
- The more funding we receive, the more social action we can inspire. Any amount is much appreciated. Come see our play! Experience the Visit Room and observe the impact it has on everyone who enters it. We look forward to seeing you there! Thank you so very much for your compassion and support.
