WHAT WE'RE FACING
We sit in silence, not knowing who to ask for support.
Whether it's because we are embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help, or we just don't know who to go to, all encompassing pelvic healthcare isn't as accessible or talked about in the United States as it is in places like Canada or Europe, where pelvic physical therapy is a well-known and integral part of women's health.
MY JOURNEY + MY WHY
I'm Brittney Ellers, founder of Being Better, where we tackle the "taboo" and offer holistic and accessible pelvic physical therapy and education to help people feel the most confident and free in their body from menstruation through menopause.
Honestly, I started this company for selfish reasons. I was one of those stats and grew up where it wasn't exactly cozy to speak up about my period problems or even sex as an adult because of my religious and culturally strict upbringing. It's taken me years to educate myself (and I continue to do so) and now I've been working to change the kind of future young girls and women (and others with vulvas) can have.
I am a licensed doctor of pelvic physical therapy with 6 years of PT experience, 32 years of living in a female body, with my own experiences of infections, painful sex, birth control symptoms and more. I have built the reputation on and off-line of being a woman who believes in the power to heal ourselves once we have the tools, mindsets, and support that works for us.
Nothing is TMI for me, and what I end up talking with most people about is that your problems of leaking, issues with sex, and pain are most likely common, but not normal.
AND there's something we can do about it.
BEING BETTER, TOGETHER
Being Better is the solution that will revolutionize women's pelvic health and provides:
- Access to one-on-one hands on, hands in, and hands off pelvic care as well as group education for pelvic healing for all kinds of problems (pain, disconnection, and dysfunction)
- A special and safe community of support for phasic beings going through their different cycles (in life and in menstruation) where they can learn from each others' stories, release any shame or embarrassment, reclaim their body and feel empowered and confident
- Accessible resources, downloadable assets, recommendations, and referrals for those who need more support and want to do their healing on their own time
And I'm looking to do something new to expand the reach of the powerful conversations I have on a daily basis with my clients and go deeper with the community that's been cultivated through Being Better.
THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN
As you've read/heard, I have walked the walk, learning and teaching firsthand how to heal from pelvic issues, and now I'm ready to talk to the talk.
I am raising funds to start, produce, and share Season 1 of the Pelvic Pulse Podcast, where we'll have the most impactful conversations with leading experts to educate and enliven listeners to take steps towards healing their root holistically for fuller embodiment.
WHY PODCASTING?
Using audio and video features for the Pelvic Pulse Pod will help us reach millions more people, and gives them access to both types of content at different time lengths for their best learning and digestible understanding of pelvic health.
The plan is to put the podcast content in multiple places - full episodes on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and smaller golden nuggets of information shared on social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
-
Podcast listeners as a group have grown 29.5% in the last three years. There are currently 120 million podcast listeners in the U.S., and industry experts predict there will be over 160 million podcast listeners by 2023. Female listenership reached an all-time high in 2021.
-
YouTube has over 122 million active users daily. 1 billion hours of content is watched across the world every day. 62% of YouTube users in the USA access the platform on a daily basis. Every minute, more than 500 hours of new content is uploaded into YouTube.
WHO I SERVE + WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
I serve women between the ages of 12-45 with a small range of 60-75 as well, throughout the United States, as well as Canada, India, Australia, Ireland, Germany, and Korea. There are are nearly 50 million women in the U.S., billions worldwide, many without direct access to holistic pelvic healthcare.
Here's what my clients have to say about the work we do, together.
