Project Description
- One of the missions of itibabeauty is to bring to the world the amazing, healing stories and practices of the Caribbean use of "bush medicine" to heal and make life better. And in so doing, to help people become more aware of our environment and to help ensure that we each can be better stewards of the world. We realize how much we are dependent on the world, dependent on Nature to survive and in that process take just a little better care of the planet we live on; safeguarding it for future generations.
- The problem being solved, people with sensitive skin who are looking for a simple, yet powerful skincare products that help the skin to become healthy and not by using the latest gimmicks or the latest fad in skincare. Only simple, natural plant ingredients, that have been shown for generations to be healing, to improve the look of your skin.
- We have sold our products globally (before the hurricanes of 2017) so we are workign to re-establish our prior market share and to grow in existing markets within the Caribbean, the US and in particular the UK both through our branded products and through white label products as well.
- At itibabeauty, we make skincare that is rooted in Caribbean traditions that are powered by Mother Earth. All of our products are created based on my knowledge and heritage of Caribbean healing remedies.
- I am seeking funding so that I may continue to grow the business. The company was just accepted onto the Walmart.com platform and I need to make sure that I can continue to supply inventory for this venture. There are also other deals being finalized where the products will be available for sale in select brick and mortar shops and not only inventory need to eb increased, but also a marketing plan so that we can keep and grow products in Walmart and expand out to other retailers.
- Right now, who is on my team is myself, as it has been from the beginning. I have a wonderful group of business advisors with decades of experience in banking, marketing and sales as well as product development; strong women helping me to grow and expand.

- How did you begin this journey?
- When my 5th daughter was born, she was very sensitive to store bought products. I had to figure out a way to help my my daughter and to soothe her pain. That is when I thought back to when my own mother would collect different plants and herbs from the garden to help me when I was a child. I grew up where "bush medicine" is what was used to soothe pains, bruises, to help you go to sleep and to keep you looking beautiful. It was not too difficult to then begin creating skin care products using the local plants, fruits, roots and herbs that I also grew up using for my own children and the products.
