Short Summary

I am a creative person with an eye for detail. I am a mom of two amazing tweens, a boy and a girl that love to perform and dance. We have spent many nights at the dance studio getting through homework and dinner between classes. I am a dance mom and I love it! I danced as a child too! I am active in the community and encourage my children to do the same. I was a director of field visuals for the US  ( for a retail company) before being laid off & now teaching at the Fashion Institute & own an event planning business.  While I  have the opportunity to pursue my dreams of making this business come to life. I have wanted to create a dance line that can give young dancers, tweens, tweens, and adults the opportunity to have dancewear fit their ever-changing bodies while creating a product that isn't just for amazing quality, comfort for the dancer, and safer for our earth and ocean. This way the dancer can feel comfortable in their own skin while doing what they love. 

What We Need & What You Get

We need $75,000 to open the doors & site. With this campaign are seeking to raise just $15,000 in just 30 days so we can begin working on the space & purchase more fabrics and order more samples to then place some big orders to get this off the ground, so we can start selling. We appreciate anything that you can give - even $1! We're offering some sweet positive reinforcement starting at $100. With a donation of $100, you will receive a 25% off code once our site goes live first then we will send you a special gift for supporting us. If 100 people support us, we would be fully funded and ready to get this off the ground!

The Impact

My vision is to create an online store that will be a place where dancers can go to customize certain pieces to their liking. I have a great network of people to put our line in a local Dance BQ in Carlsbad Village and do a pop-up shop in another BQ in Carlsbad that supports hiring veterans and working with small business entrepreneurs to get the word out in the community. Carlsbad BQ is great for our customer and our Village community really promote young artists in arts, music, dance, and theater. We have multiple dance studios and teams, high school dance teams, cheerleader teams, marching bands, color guards, and children's musical theaters with very little to no local resources for specialty dance and performance clothing for girls and guys.

All these performers work hard at what they do and want to feel special. Personal attention, excellent customer service, and exceptional products are what they want and need, and I will deliver that.

Aloha Dancewear will work with local community organizations to ensure we are able to make our products accessible to all children in our community no matter their economic situation by offering discounted dancewear and or sample pieces to any child in our community that wants to dance can.

Risks & Challenges

The biggest challenge ahead is the online market - the hurdle for most new small businesses. We will have a brick-and-mortar store, an online store, and a personal shopper service to dance studios, trying to open as many sales streams as possible. I am very lucky to live in a community that supports local businesses as well as knowing that the personal touch can win over the online market.
