Project Description
AhHa!Broadway was created to bring Arts Education programming through musical theatre and specially developed workshops to underserved children throughout New York City who aren’t provided the services they deserve—and we’re taking that commitment nationwide. The pandemic isn’t the only challenge to this programming — every year more of the Arts are cut from our schools.
Arts are not a luxury. From the time children develop motor skills, they rely on the arts to learn how to communicate. Arts are a great collaborative experience and teach us to critically think, empathize, and understand the human condition.
AhHa!Broadway is taking on the mission to help bring these vital services back to schools.
During the time of necessary social distancing, when classrooms are closed, funding will provide teaching artists and licensing rights for musicals and plays. It will also enable us to acquire cost-advantaged computer hardware to allow access by kids currently without it.
Our focus will be on providing performing arts programming at no cost to schools nationwide, for at least 1,000 participating children. Through partnerships with technology companies, we will make kid-friendly computers available at no cost to as many underserved children as resources allow. We will also be providing scholarships and targeted arts programming, plus the opportunity for virtual performances to especially-talented children nominated by educators from underserved schools.
When in-person classes are safe and regularly in session in the New York City area, we already have the infrastructure and teaching artists ready to deploy. Funding will be directed towards licensing rights for musicals and plays, costumes, art supplies, set building materials, rehearsal space rentals, additional teaching artists, and procuring any additional cost-effective computers and technology for distribution.

Thanks so much for your support! In case you have any questions about how to fund our campaign, we have put together this quick email to walk you through the process step-by-step.
1. On the right side of the page, you will see a "Fund It" button. Click it.
2. Select your reward by clicking the blue dot on the left. Enter the support amount, and click "submit."
3. Enter the amount you would like to contribute in the "Support Amount" box. Be sure to include shipping info for any rewards that require shipping.
4. If you have an account on IFW.com, login now, or select "Guest Checkout"
5. Enter your email address and guest name (this is the name that will appear on the campaign's "Funder" page). Click "Return to Checkout".
6. Enter your credit card information on the right. Please note, on the left hand side there is an option to include a tip to the IFW coaches. If you choose not to do so, just zero it out. Click "submit payment" and you're all set!
How are you funded? We are primarily funded by grants by New York City Council Members, and also have programming that schools or individuals may purchase directly.
Who runs AhHa!Broadway? AhHa!Broadway is a women-led business -- the founders and Board of Directors are all women!
What ages do you serve? We serve ages 1-100!
Where do you serve? We are based in New York City, but thanks to the power of virtual technology we are able to serve communities everywhere and ready educate students in 7 other states!
Do you offer group discounts for programs? We do! Email us at [email protected]
How do I get your program in my school? Contact your Council Member, Principal or Parent Coordinator. We are happy to set up a meeting and discuss our services!
Do you teach private lessons? We do! Acting, dancing, singing, make-up and piano lessons!
What are the qualifications of your Teaching Artists? Our team is made of up the most highly skilled professionals whom we have vetted and trained to ensure the best experience for our students.
Where does the funding go? Funding goes towards licensing rights for musicals and plays, costumes, art supplies, set building materials, rehearsal space rentals, teaching artists, and procuring cost-effective computers and technology for distribution.
Do only teach in English? We offer dance programs in Spanish and Russian!
