What is our Mission?

1 Million Wallets is a crypto educational initiative designed to bring knowledge and awareness to communities of color - about the most impactful function of Cryptocurrency as MONEY.  Our virtual and in-person popups are led by the Founder of Guapcoin - Crypto and Blockchain industry expert Tavonia Evans. Our educational sessions are of no cost to participants and anyone can host a popup for free as long as there are 50 or more participants in person or virtual.

There is a lack of cryptocurrency education in communities of color, thus leading to a huge misunderstanding about what cryptocurrency was initially created to do - provide a financial alternative to our current money.  An alternative that is most transparent, trust-less, and borderless more than the money we use now.

• A new community wallet ( our old one is outdate and needs to be brought up to current security standards ).
• Bringing on a new security team for our operations
• To cover the cost of our initial community educational popups.

Team

Tavonia Evans is a 49 year old native of New York and “mompreneur” with a 20+ year background in technology. She is an Engineer, Designer, Data Scientist, Author, and she founded the decentralized cryptocurrency Guapcoin. Tavonia’s vision is to use Guapcoin for the economic empowerment of black people and especially black-owned businesses. Not new to the world of startups, Tavonia made the transition into the world of Blockchain in 2016 as a result of identifying Cryptocurrency as a tool that could stimulate economic growth and financial freedom within the Black community.

She is one of the first Black women heralded as being the founder and lead engineer in developing a coin with such a mission within the Black community. She was featured in Glamour Magazine’s May 2018 “Women in Crypto”, CNN, Bloomberg, Complex TV, CNBC, Marie Claire, Blavity, Ozy – as well as other media publications for her work in the space. Since 2017, she has been an expert global voice for blockchain, and has spoken on diversity and the impact of blockchain technology in a variety of forums. She has made it her mission to educate both minorities & women on the potential of cryptocurrency to liberate the masses from poverty while providing greater access to funding.
