We are Caroline and Laurie Hart, Co-Founders of theLexperience, an independent multi-media news company ~ our objective is to throw positive light into the world, empower women and share unique and diverse content that inspires.

INSPIRING  PROVOCATIVE  INFORMATIVE  EMPOWERING

TheLexperience was born from our personal fight for social justice. As a bi-national, British/American, married lesbian couple, we led a campaign for marriage equality, which gained the support of politicians, celebrities and equality allies from around the world. Our story went all the way to the senate judiciary committee in Washington  DC and we helped change a law. We are proud to say we translated our story into a short film, STATUS UNKNOWN, theLexperience is the exclusive distributor of the film. We have included the film at the beginning of our pitch. We wrote, directed and produced STATUS UNKNOWN, on a micro budget of $10,000. It is important to us, that even though we have overcome some personal challenges ourselves, we continue to push forward, through theLexperience, promoting women's voices. Voices that otherwise might not be heard and we need YOUR support to do that!

With theLexperience's exclusive and successful release of STATUS UNKNOWN, we wanted to give back by allowing free viewing for all. Within 48 hours it has over 40,000 views on Facebook Watch. Moving forward not only do we want to make and produce our own films and TV content, we also want to share original and exclusive content from other indie female filmmakers. Use YOUR Voice!

By sharing our story, we were able to bring about social change and we encourage other women to do the same. Sharing stories helps us connect and understand other women's lives and situations, Ericka Murria was one of those women.

Because of our love of women in film, we were honored to support Mariska Hargitay and HBO's award winning documentary "I Am Evidence", which highlights the need for rape kit reform. Through our connection with Mariska we met the truly inspirational Ericka Murria, one of the women featured in Mariska's documentary. Ericka shared her personal story with us, of turning her devastating ordeal of rape, into an incredible fight for social justice.

Women Supporting Women

After sharing Ericka's story we received messages from rape victims in search of support, we talked to them and were able to guide them to the Joyful Heart Foundation. JHF founded by Mariska Hargitay, whose mission is to support survivors healing and end sexual violence forever. We also felt a need to do more, to highlight the work of JHF, so we followed up Ericka's piece with a feature on Ilse Knight (maximizeDNA), Director of Policy and Advocacy at JHF.
