Project Description
The Pattey Wagon
Our beginnings are small and humble! Over the past 19 months, during our marketing and product development process - we received much support and encouragement from local businesses and surrounding communities and areas! Recently we were VERY blessed with the opportunity to lease a 'semi-equipped turnkey' location, but due to our small beginnings, we don't have all the equipment needed, nor the funding to get our doors open. The following equipment is needed for us to satisfy the fast-paced environment we will be planted in: 3 deep fryers, 1-6 burner oven/range, an 8ft venting hood to cover the cooking area, 1 walk in or reach in freezer, 2 prep sinks, 1 hand wash sink, 1 beverage fridge, 1 display food warmer, 1-3 compartment food steam table.
This view is seen from HWY 70.
The 5th Ave Sign will be replaced with THE PATTEY WAGON signage
We want to be sure that our customer service and quality of food in a brick & mortar match the quality of product and service we have so carefully and skillfully provided to our customers over the past 19 months. Top level service deserves to be met through top quality appliances....thus our dilemma. Although this property is considered somewhat 'turn-key' - the previous business was positioned as a coffee house which we now need to build out for our business as an eatery.
2 FOOD PREP sinks and employee hand sink to be installed on this wall
This is a wall in the large office. A walk in freezer will be placed on this wall
In addition to the commercial equipment that needs to be purchased, there are also construction matters that need to be met such as venting and hooding for our oven and deep fryers, the existing grease trap needs to be connected which will cause some reconstruction and repair for the flooring, a larger water heater needs to be installed to comply with state food and safety guidelines, 2 food prep sinks need to be installed to comply with state food and safety guidelines, the counter in the front area needs to be removed to make room for the new cooking area where a wall also needs to be erected with an exit door leading to the front eating area. THE PATTEY WAGON Team currently consist of myself, my husband, my daughter, a family friend, and a church 'sister'. After carefully comparing estimates, I feel safe in adding my general contractor, my architect and those earnestly praying for our well being! :-)
Back counter and menu board to be ripped out and replaced by 3 deep fryers, 6 burner range and stainless steel backing. Wall will also need to be replaced with safety firewall. 8 ft hood to be installed over new cooking area
The front counter to be ripped out and replaced by wall with 2 x 2 open window to close in cooking area

The Campaign FAQs
Our current challenge is financial. I ran a very successful in home Child Development Center for 11 years and was recently forced to close due to a large amount of my clients aging out. While trying to make THE PATTEY WAGON a reality, our household finances have suffered a great deal. All the money made in the 2 year period from THE PATTEY WAGON has been rolled back into the business: $5000 to Property Owners for 1 month security and 1 month rent, $2000 retainer for the Architect. Our first plan was to have a food truck so with the first bulk of money saved, we purchased a used 18ft cargo for $12,000. After careful consideration of our busyness and all the expenses related to having a food truck - we realize it would be best to open a brick & mortar THEN after a few years of successfully running the brick & mortar - WE finance the "build" of a food truck. Once we started realizing all the different things we were going to need money for and that the location was NOT as simple as putting a few deep fryers, oven and refrigerator in- We put the truck up 'for sale'. We're currently asking $11,500 and had a few inquiries but nothing serious. We are getting very overwhelmed because our lease contract started on June 1st but we don't pay our first lease payment until October. We need to be able to START business in the location no later than September so we can build our budget to pay our expenses in October. We have exhausted ALL money made from doing business as THE PATTEY WAGON over the past 2 years and have began to 'dip' into our 1 income family budget - which is beginning to cause financial stress and issues in the household. We have not received the final estimate from our General Contractor, The Engineers or the Hood & Venting Contractors. The General Contractor and the Hood & Venting Specialist require a deposit of at least 1/2 down - which we don't have, the Engineers remaining balance is $4000. We're HOPING to sell the truck by that time. We believe in the product, the idea and ourselves. We've sat and did "the figures" with conservative numbers and have calculated this to be a six figure business, after expenses. The idea of being a success is nice but the thought of being able to help people through this business through employment and mentorship.
THANK YOU for thinking enough in what we believe in to help make it a reality!
