Project Description
PAL by Project Playdate, set to launch this Summer in New York City, is a platform that connects families with shared child care needs to a highly selective network of child care professionals. With PAL we offer the network of parents with children of all ages and providers the tools they need to seamlessly coordinate social care, or a curated playdate experience facilitated by caregivers that always promises to be safe, social and stimulating. Seamless coordination includes:
- Shared calendars
- Members-only groups
- Pooled pay
- Structured enrichment
- Easy communication
With multiple parents paying for one provider, we enable well-paid and meaningful job opportunities for a highly skilled workforce at a lower price point for parents.

THE PROBLEM
When a parent needs “off-hour” care, their only market option is to hire a babysitter. Unfortunately, in this space, there are limited affordable solutions for parents to book a high-quality professional for one-on-one care.
One-on-one care has no established quality control and is not stimulating. Additionally, one-on-one care is not lucrative for real professionals – making it difficult to recruit and retain the best people.
BACKGROUND
Created from a passionate belief that all families deserve access to affordable and enriching professional care, Project Playdate is an existing service that curates drop-off care experiences with NYC's most celebrated spaces, specialists and attractions for kids. Through Project Playdate (www.projectplaydate.org), we discovered that parents are desperate to have time for themselves during off-hours, while knowing that their children are having a safe and meaningful child care experience.
SOLUTION
With this proven insight, we are now introducing the evolution of Project Playdate, called PAL.
Through our group care model, we can achieve higher pay for the best in class. This enables a comprehensive vetting process that ensures only the top talent has access to job opportunities on PAL.
Our network of high quality care providers are made up of:

- Higher Ed Students
As a parent, you can:
- Search for a drop off playdate near you based on age group, interest, and even preferred specialists.
- Request a playdate through the PAL job board for you and your friends. You'll receive job submissions with suggested playdate itineraries.
- Build a members-only group with your building, camp, school and more to ensure seamless coordination of care with other trusted families that share your needs.
Specialist profiles always include certifications, reviews, and bios. You can be sure that everyone is background checked and has successfully completed the PAL vetting process. We even have a tool that enables real-time video updates of the playdate in action!
