- Our nylon recycled fabric is sustainably sourced from Italy, much of this coming from commercial fishing nets pulled from the ocean as part of coral reef restoration efforts - 78% recycled nylon 22% spandex
- Four-way stretch to hug every curve
- UPF 50+, fade-resistant, chlorine-safe, sunscreen & oil resistant
- We recommend hand-washing only
What if the Gemma dress doesn't fit quite right?
Because all the dresses will be made based on the pre-orders, we’re unable to offer refunds, but will honor an exchange for a different size or color, if we have it in stock.
What sizes do the Nouveau t-shirt come in?
Here's the size chart from Bella + Canvas. Just remember adult sizes are unisex, so size accordingly!!
Why did you start Nouveau?
For the last ten years, I've lived with lupus, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation throughout your body and can make you hyper-sensitive to the sun. As a nurse, I know the importance of wearing sun protection, especially with the lupus medications I'm on, but I struggled with finding sun protective clothing that I'd actually want to wear.
Oftentimes when living with a chronic disease, you don't feel like yourself due to the medications you're on or your symptoms flaring up. With Nouveau, I wanted to empower sun sensitive women to feel like their best selves because when you feel like your most authentic self you radiate power and confidence!
What's the difference between SPF & UPF?
SPF & UPF are like cousins. Similar, but different:
- SPF, sun protection factor, is the rating system for sunscreen products. The SPF number tells you how long the sun's UVB radiation would take to redden your skin when using the product exactly as directed versus the amount of time without ANY sunscreen.
- UPF stands for ultraviolet protection factor. It's the rating system used for apparel to measure its broad spectrum protection against BOTH UVA and UVB rays. UPF 50 clothing allows 1/50th of UV radiation to pass through it, giving you protection against 98% of UVA & UVB rays. The highest level of protection is UPF 50+, which means it protects against more than 98% of ultraviolet rays.
