More women are participating in outdoor recreation than ever before, yet we still lack an effective way to find and connect with each other. This explains why 7 out of 10 women feel held back from spending more time outdoors — they don't have anyone to go with.

ILLA offers a new approach to finding local adventure partners.

Instead of making you search through community forums or swipe through profiles, ILLA proactively introduces you to other women in your area who are likely to join you on your next adventure, just like a mutual friend.

At ILLA, safety and inclusivity are at the core of our mission. That's why we made ILLA a membership community. We verify 100% of our profiles to ensure a trustworthy environment for every member, promoting confidence and connection.

ILLA's base memberships will always be free, creating opportunities for all women+ to join our adventure community.

As a verified member, you'll get notifications from ILLA whenever you match to a nearby activity, called an "ILLA." From there, you can hop into the group chat to meet the other members and decide whether or not you want to join in.

Since launching the ILLA web app in May, we've welcomed nearly 1,000 members into our free community. These members have connected through the ILLA app and met up in real life (IRL) to adventure together. But our web app is holding us back.

Creating an iOS app would be a game-changer for both our current members and future members who would love to be able to find ILLA in the AppStore.

Here's the thing... we can't build it without you.

We have a team of talented AI engineers and a design advisor from Google (!) ready to bring ILLA iOS to life as early as December. But to get there, we need your support to fund our development costs.

ILLA was born out of Tana's lifelong personal mission to connect women in the outdoors and came to life after she won a pitch competition and received an early investment from VF Corporation (parent company of VANS, The North Face). Since then, ILLA's team has grown and we've all had to dedicate a LOT of time, money, and sweat-equity—while working other jobs—to keep ILLA going. We keep at it because we all believe that ILLA has a promising future and because the ILLA community is so incredibly special.
