Making our own damn history this Women's History Month

#WHM 2024 reminds me of this iconic quote from Madame C.J. Walker, the first female self-made millionaire in America. Walker made her fortune by developing and marketing a line of cosmetics and hair care products for Black women. She made her own damn history, and women since the beginning of time have had to do the same. Madame Walker paved the way for entrepreneurs like Shontay Lundy of Black Girl Sunscreen to scale her sunscreen business designed for women of color into a multi-million dollar phenom.

The Journey So Far

It's been a journey, right? From the boardroom to the startup garage, women have been breaking barriers, challenging the status quo, and proving time and time again that our ideas, our leadership, and our innovations can not only change the world but drive the bottom line.

But we also know the road hasn't been easy despite the fact that businesses founded by women deliver two times higher revenue per dollar invested than those founded by men, making women-owned companies better investments. Access to funding, resources, and community has been a significant hurdle for many women entrepreneurs. That's where IFundWomen steps in, and this Women's History Month, we're doubling down on our commitment to change the game.

New Grant Opportunities

We're thrilled to announce a series of new grant opportunities tailored for founders in the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey. These grants are not just about providing financial support; they're about recognizing the potential and value of women-led startups by providing business coaching and partnership opportunities designed to drive revenue to these burgeoning businesses. With our partners like Angel City Football Club and BOTOX® Cosmetic, we're offering $600k in monetary grants that cater to various sectors, from sports to tech to social impact, ensuring that founders from all backgrounds have the chance to bring their innovations to life.

Startup Coaching: Learn how to start your business and make money

We know that funding is just one piece of the puzzle. Startup education is critical to turning an idea into a successful business.

Did you know that people who invest in IFW’s private coaching program before they crowdfund raise 27x more money vs. the crowdfunding industry average? Getting coaching is a no-brainer, especially if you are planning to crowdfund.

This is why IFundWomen is expanding our startup coaching programs. These aren't your typical, dry business seminars. We're talking about hands-on, practical coaching sessions that cover everything from how to crowdfund successfully to how to use the data that you already have to drive more revenue

Be The Funding Change

We all have the power to fund women-owned businesses. Funding women entrepreneurs does not mean you need to write a big check. You can be an “investor” by buying products and services from women-owned businesses and supporting crowdfunding campaigns raising capital on IFundWomen right now.

Check out artist Rachel Rodriguez, from Nashville, TN, who is raising money and awareness for Chicana singer-songwriters like herself by releasing her next album!

Show your support for the women who are trying to make history today by funding their campaigns:

So, let's make history together. Let's build a future where women-led startups are not the exception but the norm. Let's create a world where every woman has the opportunity to turn her dream into reality, innovate, disrupt, and lead. This Women's History Month, join us in celebrating not just the women who've paved the way but all the women who have yet to make their mark.

To all the entrepreneurs out there, remember: your ideas have the power to change the world.

Here's to making our own damn history,
