Up Beet Jams is opening a storefront called Radish Kitchen. Help this vegan hub open its doors to the Peoria community with any contribution
Project Description
In early 2022, Up Beet Jams will be growing into Radish Kitchen, a plant-based hub for the Heart of Illinois. Radish Kitchen will continue catering services and serving pre-ordered vegan meals each week, but will expand into grab-and-go meals available daily, a small selection of made-to-order meals, a plant-based convenience store with bulk items and teas, and an event space for workshops, classes, meetings, and dinner parties. The storefront will allow what started as a small meal prep service for a few friends to grow into a hub to share the love of plant-based food with the community.
I am raising funds to purchase equipment including pots and pans, a freezer, display coolers, inventory, and help with various start-up costs. Any funds we raise will also help with any construction of the front of the store. I am taking on as many tasks as possible myself to reduce the cost including lighting, painting, building shelving and displays, and more. Though I am fully prepared to make the jump into a full storefront, I am asking for your help to make this space a possibility so we can continue serving our community in this way and more!

Frequently Asked Questions:
- When will the store be open to the public?
- We hope to be opening to the public in mid-February or early March
- Can I still order weekly meals?
- Yes! I will still be cooking each week and offering weekly meals with a new menu to be released each Sunday. This will continue when the storefront opens but will be limited to subscription only for pre-orders after opening day
- Who can attend dinner parties?
- Anyone! I will be teaming up with someone new each month for a new topic for each party. Tickets will be available in advance and can be purchased through our website. Stay tuned for the schedule!
- Will you still deliver meals?
- Yes! I will deliver meals on Friday nights to the Peoria area and anywhere within a 40-mile radius.
- Will the weekly meal schedule change?
- Yes. Starting January 1 I will release the new menu on Sundays. You will have until Wednesday night to order, and orders will be ready for pick up or delivery on Friday evenings. You will still receive an email and text notification with full details the day of.
- Will all items in the store be vegan?
- Yes! This is a dedicated vegan facility. No animal products will ever be present in this facility. Everything for sale is fully 100% vegan!

A Contribution of $25 gets you Radish Kitchen stickers and buttons. $25 helps us purchase nuts, flours, seeds, and legumes such as lentils pictured here!
A $50 donations gets you a limited run of Radish Kitchen t-shirts, stickers, patches, and a tote bag.
$50 helps us purchase enough wood to build 1 shelving unit!
A $100 donation gets you a Radish Kitchen tote bag filled with two surprised items that will be featured in our store. Items may include a gift card, vegan cheese, housemade sauce, spice mix, organic tea blend, adaptogen mix, or something else!
$100 donation helps us purchase a set of dishes for our monthly dinner parties
A $250 donation gets you a vegan cheese wheel, hummus, housemade sauce, a team blend, a spice mix, a juice, and a surprise dessert
$250 allows us to purchase pots and pans needed to cook the meals or 2 weeks worth of compostable containers
For a $500 donation I will veganize your favorite meal and include it on rotation for the weekly menu. You can even name the item if you choose!
$500 allows us to purchase bulk item displays or the ability purchase enough wood to build all of the shelving we need!
Wow! A $1000 donation gets you invited to the first dinner party at Radish Kitchen, exclusive only to those who donated $1000 or more. This is a three-course thank you dinner with live music.
$1000 allows us almost enough to purchase a display cooler for grab-and-go meals OR it covers our kitchen licensing cost and the cost of a rented dish washer
A $2500 donation invites yourself and one other to the three-course thank you dinner with live music AND a section of the store will be named after you. You may also choose to name the section of the store anything you would like if you'd like to remain anonymous.
$2500 allows us to purchase a display cooler, a freezer, OR much of our needed inventory
