Make it Mariko

Make it Mariko (pronounced mah-ri-ko) is an all woman of color, Bay Area event planning company focused on creating magical, meaningful moments for the community.

Moments that make you feel, make you cry, make you laugh, give you perspective on life; moments that you’ll remember forever. We are experience curators, community organizers, corporate planners, nonprofit advocates, and event enthusiasts.

We’re here to challenge the status quo and pave the way for a new generation of event experience curators.

Pivoting During Covid

In 2021, despite the event industry shutting down and many people losing their jobs, our company was able to pivot quickly and become a leader in virtual event experience planning as early as April 2020. We were able to grow our team, as well as launch a new Women of Color SISternship Program, to help develop a new generation of diverse experience curators. 

We're now working on leveling up our agency bringing on business and financial consultants (to level up our business and strategy), wellness specialists & healers (to help us decolonize the capitalist structures and colonial mentality that pervades our mental space), as well as growing our community of POC (people of color) event vendors and partners to lift up.
