Project Description
At FEMI Magazine, our mission is to elevate and celebrate the authentic voices of men and women from Black and Brown communities. We are committed to telling the powerful stories that mainstream media too often ignores — stories of resilience, creativity, leadership, and cultural impact.
Traditional media platforms have long overlooked the rich and diverse experiences within Black and Brown communities. Opportunities for authentic storytelling are limited, and the creators behind the work are frequently underrepresented and underfunded. FEMI Magazine exists to close that gap — creating a platform where these important voices are not just heard, but celebrated and empowered.
The demand for authentic, diverse storytelling is greater than ever. Black and Brown consumers drive over $3 trillion in combined spending power in the U.S., influencing culture, fashion, politics, and beyond. FEMI Magazine is uniquely positioned to capture and amplify this energy by centering real voices and real experiences from these vibrant communities.
FEMI Magazine is an independent, Black woman-owned publication founded by Tanisha Davis. We spotlight real stories — from entrepreneurs to artists, activists to everyday changemakers — across Black and Brown communities. Through high-quality articles, interviews, photography, and features, we provide a platform that honors authentic experiences and fairly compensates the creatives who help bring these stories to life.
We are seeking funding to help FEMI Magazine grow stronger and go further. Your support will allow us to:
- Upgrade essential publishing and creative software
- Invest in professional photography and video production equipment
- Pay our writers, photographers, and creative contributors fairly
- Expand our marketing and outreach to amplify more stories
- Cover operating costs to sustain and grow our independent platform

2. Will contributors and writers be paid with the funds raised?
Yes! One of our top priorities is to fairly compensate the talented writers, photographers, and creatives who make FEMI Magazine possible. Your support helps us honor their work and sustain a platform built on respect, authenticity, and empowerment.
3. Will I receive any rewards or recognition for donating?
Yes! We have created special rewards for our backers, including social media shoutouts, website features, special awards, digital cover stories, and exclusive recognition based on your donation level. Every supporter is deeply appreciated and will be honored for helping build FEMI’s future.
4. Is FEMI Magazine an independent publication?
