JAZZBOX is a curated oasis of homestyle artifacts, workshops, educational programming, coffee & community care harnessing Black liberatory practices. 

MEET THE FOUNDERS!

JAZZBOX is a co-created concept by both partners Marisabel Santiago and Doriana Diaz. Doriana Diaz is a multidimensional artist, archivist, and memory worker originally from Philly. Marisabel is a writer, culinary connesiur, and barista from MA. Throughout the course of their relationship, their passions have grown for community care and radical actions of devotion and sanctuary.

MISSION AND VISION

This space was created by two queer Afro-Boricua's honing lineage and stepping more deeply into loving through the intention to host and facilitate safe and intimate activations for Black folks to mobilize, ideate, and co-conspire. We are opening up this experience for those who seek deep-seated community care and devotion through channels of nourishment, food justice, artistic practice, and reparational programming. 

Our offerings include food healing, art workshops, roundtables, farming, archival artifacts, and more. We are seeking funding to propel this project to new heights of opportunity. This includes funding for a commercial operation in the local Germantown community. Our concept for this space is simply to expand the mission and offer income to those within our communities seeking employment. Through JAZZBOX hope to continue this mission alongside one another and those who self-identify as Black, queer, and gender expansive folks seeking refuge within one another's companionship. Spaces for us and by us are the most important vessels for tender healing, learning, and loving. 

Your funding will go directly to the growth of this mission. As we are a new operation currently existing out of our residential space. We made this decision purposfully to uplift our pirincples regarding offering a space for intentional intimacy to take priority.
