The My AfterLife mission is to provide a solution to the age-old questions:
- What happens to all my cherished memories/moments when I'm gone?
- How do I connect future generations to my legacy – and to those that came before me?
- How can I make things easier on my family when faced with tying up all the loose ends of my life?
There is currently no convenient, approachable, “one-stop-shop” that exists for end-of-life planning.

We've developed a solution that helps collect, curate, and commemorate your life, your way. And in the process, allows family and friends to grow closer to you.

Why
We are two women in our early 40's who have been touched by the loss of a loved one and wish we had just one more minute with them to capture more memories and more information about their lives.

We know there is a market out there wanting this information and not knowing how to capture it. We recently launched our website, but with your support we will:
- Add website and product features (video recordings, digital obituary and commemoration pages, posthumous messages)
- Develop both a web app and a companion mobile app (for easier uploading of information)

How to confirm death? Designee must provide a copy of the death certificate or obituary along with a copy of the designee's ID. Both must be notarized. This can be done via email [email protected] How often does system automatically re-confirm designee? Yearly. All designees must accept invitation from account holder to hold this position. Designees can be family members, friends, attorney, etc. How many times does system remind designee to accept their role 3. If information is provided, we send either a text or email once (1) a month for the first three (3) months. What does my designee need to do to gain access to my profile after I pass? Designee must provide a copy of the death certificate or obituary along with a copy of the designee's ID. Both must be notarized. This can be done via email [email protected] How do you notify people after a death has been confirmed? We don't. We do not have the right to tell people of your passing. That is up to your directives and designee. It is a very sensitive discussion that should not come from a random platform. How is a designee verified? Designee gets a secure email link to set up a profile on My AfterLife (2FA). What is the difference between a primary designee and all other designees? Primary name/email appear on posthumous tribute page, primary is the only designee from which we will accept a certified death certificate to confirm the member's passing. Do I have to be 16? Yes, that's what it says in our Terms of Use. Does my Designee have to be 16? Yes, that's what it says in our Terms of Use. Can I create an account for someone else? No. How do I cancel my account? While there is no refund, you can regift any unused membership within two (2) years. To do so, email us at [email protected]. If you have already uploaded information but want it removed, email us and we will delete all information under your account. We will also send you a link to download your information so you'll still have it in one place. Download links must be used within 30 days. Why wouldn't I just store my photos and content on Google and Apple? It's difficult, complex, and costly to request Google, Apple, and other Internet giants to hand-over valuable photos, documents, emails, etc from your loves ones. In most cases you need a specific court order instructing Google and Apple to hand-over the requested data to you. AfterLife designees have full access to your profile and the information within under structured and secure but less stressful terms. We will also never sell or use your info. All information uploaded remains the property of the owner until which it becomes passed onto the designee. How do I report a technical problem or bug within the site? We want this to be a simple, secure area to keep your most important personal content. If you have any issues or errors, please contact us at [email protected]. I wish you offered a specific feature or service. How do I suggest this? If you have a great idea you'd love to see offered through My AfterLife, let us know by emailing [email protected]. We're always open to improving our services and hearing from our customers. While we can't guarantee implementing every idea or request, we truly appreciate you providing us with your feedback.
