Our Story

Lotus By Alesia is a company is a non-toxic wellness brand created and run by Alesia Alexander.  Our products are handcrafted and geared towards all skin types. For as long as I can remember my mom always had a top-tier skincare routine that I would emulate with her favorite products once she left the house. That is where my love of skincare was born.

Back in 2012 I almost lost my life in a horrific car accident and because of it I lost my job and didn't qualify for any assistance. I was extremely depressed and the one thing I prided myself on was beginning to suffer because I couldn't afford to keep up with my daily self-care routine.  One day I watched a few youtube videos and with $50 to my name I purchased shea butter, coconut oil, and almond oil and began learning how to make my own essential products. I had friends ask to try it out and they fell in love to the point where they ordered them in bulk to ship to friends and family  in countries as far as Guyana. From there Lotus By Alesia was born.  

In 2021 I decided that I wanted to make the jump from teaching to being a full-time entrepreneur and dive headfirst into one of the fastest-growing segments within the beauty industry. Research shows that self-care and self-compassion are important yet hard to act on due to the lack of time that people have. It's important, especially during these times, to care for ourselves when we have the responsibility of caring for others. Whether it be children, elderly parents, a sick spouse, or catering to students on a daily. Lotus By Alesia wants to help solve this problem by bringing the act of self-care to the homes of these individuals with our mobile Esthetician services. According to a recent Market Research Engine report, the global esthetic market is expected to exceed more than $19.4 billion by 2023, growing at a rate of 12.2% in the forecasted period.

Lotus By Alesia currently crafts natural skincare products that can easily allow people the opportunity to incorporate self-care into their everyday lives. However, with millennials aging but not wanting to look the part, the consumer market for skincare and beauty products is consistently on the rise. With most of our customers being black millennials and being that there is currently a huge growth in consumption of skincare products and services by black women, the demand for these types of services is in high demand. 

The global skincare market has increased nearly 60% in the last decade and is projected to be worth $183 billion by 2025. Of this, Black women in the United States spend an estimated $465 million on skincare with the growth of skincare products 14 times more than makeup. The buying power of black women in the skincare industry is undeniable but there is also a lack of funding for the small businesses that cater to them. This is where your help is needed. 

Why Support Us?

Lotus By Alesia is seeking funding so that we can begin the process of turning our company into a mobile esthetician service. I, the CEO, will be graduating from esthetics school in May and funding will allow me to ramp up inventory production of my own line, purchase esthetic necessities and products needed for services such as facials and waxing, as well as secure a sprinter van and pay for its renovations.
