It's been a journey. Boy has it been a journey!
This process has taught me so much and I've finally built enough ground work to share what I've been up to and begin crowdfunding.
How I started my business:
NYC Fashion Consulting was founded during my journey to NY(2018). I took a chance moving to the Fashion Capital of the US beginning with a 2 month furnished apartment in Brooklyn for $700 a month bills included. I joined a women's business book club (something I had been wanting to do for a long time) and little did I know, there were fashion designers, fashion marketers and fashion professors in the room (This is the difference between TX and NY! Fashion professionals are everywhere.). After introductions, me - a prior sales executive for a women's clothing company. I later got introduced to several brands as a salesperson. After meeting with the designers I was introduced to, I realized they needed consulting before they could be sold. Many hours of consulting! Building brands takes a lot of time, effort and capital. As my consulting business began, I coined it none other than "NYC Fashion Consulting".
Why I started my business:
As a prior sales person AND buying office team member, I had noticed for many years the lack of right product, price, fit, quality, timing, style, packaging, details and uniqueness, therefor I work with brands that have these needs. My goal is to take them from an idea or designer currently doing pop-ups to a brand sold in boutiques and national chains (depending on the brand's goals). By working with these brands, I believe I help the designers, the designer's team, retailers, and my team by providing better product, excellent customer service and the chain reaction of the those.
Impact:
Trivial fact: Buyers at national chains plan pricing according to estimated % of markdowns. Typically planned around 25%, but can end up being as much as 50%. (cough cough - not buying the right goods b/c they weren't available).
How would retail prices look if markdowns weren't planned into the original price? Based on the #'s below, this would make a huge impact through the right product development, selection and production quantities.

Current Structure & Plans for Crowdfunding $:
My current team is mostly myself; I wear the hats of finance, accounting, marketing, sales, logistics, human resources, legal, planning, buying, merchandising, design, IT, creative director and sourcing with a little hired hourly freelance help.
My Goal 1 of crowdfunding is simply to cover some basic business expenses. The 'lights/electric bills' to my business. The basic operational expenses to run the business.
(Jira, Quickbooks, Invoice2go, Salesforce, Canva, Calendly, Dropbox, Wix, Office, Legal Zoom, Wifi, Business #, Accounting/filling fees + TBD Payroll/HR software)
Goal 2: Secondary operational expenses (office, electric, printing, marketing expenses + some hourly advising; CFO, logistics etc)
Goal 3: Purchase a booth for markets to host brands $20,000 + market entry fees.
Goal 4: Other plans, but I can't reveal it all! :)
Thank you to all who have supported me to this point. The NY family that let me build this business in their basement, my mom for letting me live with her for a year and my dad for letting me live in one of his properties for a year. Building a business takes sacrifice.

About Jenna Wyatt?
Graduated from University of Arkansas w/ Finance degree w/ concentration in real estate. I didn't know what I wanted to do so I did business because it applies to almost everything. Real estate because my parents are both in real estate. Finance b/c ... I like money. I've had both a good and bad relationship w/ money and see it can be used for both good and bad. My goal is for NYC Fashion Consulting to be a culture that provides job, encourages development, and a work life balance. I believe it can be achieved and people are their best when they are happy.
Worked for Fortune 500 Companies in the apparel industry, I've worked with startups and midsize companies. I've been on both the buying and sales side which gives me a unique perspective.
I'm a peacemaker which I think makes me the perfect consultant.
I've been an Account Manager for 3,000 stores. Some people I don't think can grasp that concept or recognize the difference in business perspective and the planning it takes for 3,000 stores vs 1 store. One of these is a store you probably walk in monthly. I loved my partners on the other side!
I've done sales for the Texas territory where I got to hone in on presentation and memorization skills.
I do my best to meet brands and business where they are at... Global or startup.. very different.
I've taken a Harvard law class and loved it!
I've taken many Dale Carnegie classes; sales and customer service. I HIGHLY recommend these for anyone that talks to a customer. Apparel, food & beverage, servers, general managers. I repeat ANYONE who talks to a customer. This was inspired by my grandfather who ran his own business.
I am a 3rd generation entrepreneur.
I've worked in the LUXURY MARKET and the DISCOUNT MARKET to me these create a unique perspective to have worked for both.
I took a seasonal job at the #1 ecommerce retailer in their warehouse know for the fastest shipments. Who set new bars.
I'm a designated certified negotiation expert (C.N.E)
My goal is to obtain my MBA to hone my Accounting/IT/Logistics + other business skills.
From all this, I hope you can see the value I can bring to any business or brand!
