Project Description
IN RURAL MOROCCO, WOMEN PLAY A KEY ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR ‘DOUAR’ AND IN IMPROVING THE LIVING CONDITIONS OF THEIR FAMILIES.
BRINGING TOGETHER MORE THAN 200 WOMEN, DOUM FOR WOMEN IS A WOMEN’S BASKETRY COOPERATIVE WHOSE MISSION IS TO INTEGRATE RURAL WOMEN FROM THE TOUGGANA VILLAGE, MARRAKECH.
Our main goal is to help these women to be financially independent by providing them with a stable income within an ideal work environment.
By means of this social and solidarity entrepreneurship, we wish to bring solutions to different economic and social dissatisfactions through an effective structure and organization.
Since the creation of our cooperative in 2019, more than 200 women have come to seek a source of income to improve their living conditions and those of their families.
Today, we are trying to help these women and their children as much as possible to ensure a stable income and thus improve their living conditions significantly.
By 2025, we plan to double our current workforce to empower and train more than 400 women in basketry crafts.
