Project Description
- The mission of the company is to encourage the community to adventure into knowledge and creativity through reading and art.
- The Heart's Desire will be filling in a gap that was made when the previous bookstore closed in 2019. It will also be making more opportunities for teens and young families to do things in the community instead of having to drive outside of the area.
- The town of Hastings has approximately 25,000 people in it, of which is a large group of teenagers who believe there isn't anything to do in town. There are a lot of families as well as older couples who may be looking for things to do together, which can be accomplished through art classes or reading books together.
- The Heart's Desire is all about adventuring into knowledge and creativity. It's solving the problem above by selling new and used books, as well as offering art classes in drawing, painting, and pottery.
- I am seeking funding to be able to start the business this year, and all funds will go towards business expenses: working capital, inventory, and supplies.
- For now, I (Dacia) will run the store solely. But I have a huge support team that have helped me get to where I am now. They are greatly appreciated, and will always be so.

- Where will the store be?
- It will be located in Hastings, NE. The exact location isn't ready to be disclosed yet, but will for sure be downtown.
- Where do I sign up?

- Can small artists apply to join your shop?
- I'm looking for a couple of local artists to do consignments with and in the future hope to contract some classes to be done by said local artists as well.
- Will there be classes for children?
- Eventually, yes! At the beginning I'm planning on not allowing children under the age of 6 for pottery classes due to sharp tools, but painting and drawing classes they are more than welcome if you think they will enjoy them!
A 12 oz. tumbler with The Heart's Desire logo on it will be given to you for free! You have the option of a white or black background, with the opposite color for the wording. Thank you very much for your contribution! The tumbler will be sent to you by the end of April to allow time for them to be made. Be sure to let me know where to send it!
